The owner of the gallery, Stuart Simpson, has been specializing in Important Canadian Art since 1997. He holds an honours degree in Art History and English from the University of Toronto, where he took a special interest in Canadian Art. He studied art history under Dennis Reid, Chief Curator of the Art Gallery of Ontario, and Arlene Gehmacher, Head Curator of Canadian Historical Art at the Royal Ontario Museum. He worked at a well known art gallery in Toronto, before moving to Lunenburg to open North Shore Canadian Art in the spring of 2005. Stuart was also a founding member of the Art Galleries Association of Lunenburg, and has served as Vice President and President.
